We have receive our first contact from a firm who missed the recent ITT deadline for 2013 contracts. We have dealt with this situation on every previous bid round and our heart goes out to them, despite their honest “we only have ourselves to blame” attitude.
I have said previously that I believe this to be a total unnecessary and wasteful exercise especially given LASPO. Why not allow any firm who wants to do the work which remains in scope a contract (and a medal) subject to obtaining Lexcel within 18 months? I am sure there is some insurmountable Euro Procurement Law imperative which precludes this however.
The LSC displayed commendable common sense at the PQQ stage in this regard, so here’s hoping for a repeat.
