On The Move

The LSC Website has moved (though my old book mark works) here. I have not had much chance to have a look round yet but will do so over the next few days so when you get lost we should be able to direct you home. We have received a new set of LSC Manuals […]

Mid Air

Without a shadow of a doubt “Mid Air” by Paul Buchannan is my Album of this, and pretty much any other, Year (and I am so glad it is getting similar acclaim from sources that matter). I have not the writing skills to explain why and frankly it is also a bit too personal. Make […]

Friday Song of the Year Vote

Have never done this before but I have had a look back at all the Friday Songs of 2012 (plus a couple of others which got posted for other reasons). Today I am going to re post my favourite and I will post yours next Friday (with a Christmas Song on the 21st). To help […]

On Demand

In the typical “London bus” way that things happen, nothing for ages then 2 come along at once, I have 2 sets of CDS billing webinars to do in the next couple of weeks. Today’s is for a billing clerk new to the CDS scheme and will cover the Investigations class of work, with Proceedings […]

On a Theme

Today’s theme seems to be firms in “trouble” with the LSC for acting on the basis of their written advice. Latest example goes as follows; Firm – “Can we do that?” LSC – “Yes” LSC (different person, much later) – “er no you can’t, here have a Contract Notice”

This Fridays Webinar

Evidence of Means Proof of Means to file, or rather lack of it, is the number 1 reason for LSC audit failure. Whilst we have covered it frequently we have, to date, never run a course dedicated to this subject alone. Our aim therefore is to provide a comprehensive exposition of the rules and guidance […]

Living WIth Rejection

Hands up our client claimed the wrong Care graduated fee. The LSC, quite correctly, rejected this advising they should claim a fee for “2 or more Joined Parties” (for non Care lawyers this does not exist) and suggesting an actual fee from a non-applicable schedule. They did so and the LSC, quite rightly, rejected this […]

Tell Me A Tale

I have no idea how I came across Michael Kiwanuka. This is almost unprecedented. Anyhow having bought the album it is one of those which is getting played to death. Draw your own conclusions as to who he reminds you of, and there are plenty, I however cannot think of a better debut by male […]

Weather Update

Continuing yesterdays theme we have had 2 calls from firms being chased for large sums of money that are, allegedly, owing to the LSC. It seems that they are starting early tidying up the end of year financial reports.

Thursday Song Special

For reasons I can’t yet explain this seems appropriate (even the Rihanna advert is strangely fitting)
