In between working on the influx of appeals which have landed on us in the last few days I have spent much of my time in (idle) speculation, with anxious criminal lawyers, as to the likely nature of the propose “Competitive tendering” consultation.
It is a sign of our times that people seek out comforting words from a hardened curmudgeon like me.
When asked “What can we do?”, apart from “wait and see” all we can suggest is making sure you have a sound understanding of your CDS delivery. That said when the last “pilot” was imminent, in Manchester, all rational economic behaviour went out of the window and more basic bidding decisions, based upon survival, took hold.
Lets hope that this is another area in which the Government make a swift U-turn.
