It has been another of those weeks with a full and varied range of LAA related problems. My work, as ever, is at the fractious end of the “mutual trust and co-operation” spectrum.
The use of quotation marks demonstrates what you probably already know that these are warm but empty words and as much a guide to LAA behaviour as the Civil Service Code.
In 3 of these clients have specifically asked me – “Can we do anything, should we complain?”
All 3 are hopelessly conflicted holding (justified) anger about obvious misconduct however are equally fearful of capricious retribution.
If the incidents were in our firm I would certainly want to know of them. If I were a public sector manager I think I would likewise. The sad truth is however a complaint would be an entire waste of time and the fear of reprisal is not the result of paranoia.
