As you know I spend a lot of time on the phone counseling angry lawyers about the nature of a Contract Notice. I use phrases such as “they chuck them around like confetti” to characterize their essential pointlessness. Obviously I provide the more detailed and technical justification for this claim but stick with humour to try and take the heat out of the situation.
The classic example of the latter is the following:
“Look, we at JRS have got a Contract Notice and we don’t even have a contract”.
Well guess what just happened?
No not quite however a client firm without a Contract has just been threatened with a Contract Notice.
