I secured tickets for the last of my current list of forthcoming gigs this morning – The Decemberists next February. I put them in my calendar and had a look at what else we have pending:
Stornoway next week then I am Kloot and British Sea Power at the “Whisky Sessions” followed by John Grant, with a full FO orchestra, at the Sage a week later. The Manics performing The Holy Bible might well then be the last of the year, although there are a couple of local Kids Are Solid Gold events we hope to get to.
For the new year we have Justin Townes Earl, The Barr Brothers, Elbow and Belle and Sebastian lined up. If there was ever a better run of events I cannot remember it – the downside is I am not blessed with patience.
Back to The Decemberists who, as this track from the forthcoming album demonstrates, are one of those very rare acts who only seem to get better. February seems a long way off.
