2018 Civil Contracts

The LAA have just published their “Headline Intentions” with regard to 2018 contracts. This will include all face-to-face contracts in the following categories:

  • Family
  • Housing, Debt and Welfare Benefits
  • Immigration & Asylum (including IRCs)
  • Claims against Public Authorities (currently known as ‘Actions Against the Police etc.’) Community Care
  • Clinical Negligence
  • Mental Health
  • Public Law

The bid round will also involve all specialist telephone advice contracts plus Housing Possession Court Duty Schemes (HPCDS). These latter two might involve some price competition the mainstream contracts will not. The first part of the process is due to begin in April 2017 – that’s right, in just a few weeks time.

  • A bid checking service.

Recent experience of the 2017 Crime Contract suggests that there will be significant demand for this assistance. We never price these options until we know the actual level of work involved however are considering an “early bird” discount to encourage firms to get bidding dealt with proactively.
