This is an interesting article, though it tells you little more than we already know (don’t read the comments!).
This quote might however be illuminating as to the current LA Ministers intentions:
“Legal aid can be a good filler for those lawyers out of work, or women who want to get back into the legal job market after having children,” Djanogly said at a fringe meeting at the Conservative party conference.
UPDATE
It appears that the Guardian got the quote wrong and he said “pro bono” rather than “Legal Aid”.
