Reminder

Here, once again, is our “cut out and keep” guide to the Domestic Violence evidential requirements. We have had a couple of phone enquiries this morning which jogged our memory.

It is also worth reprinting the definition of DV from the Directors Guidance;

2.2. The LASPO definition of domestic violence is any incident, or pattern of incidents, of controlling, coercive or threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (whether psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between individuals who are associated with each other.

In one of the cases to hand the question was – “A Doctors letter evidencing depression caused by domestic abuse is not enough is it?”

To which we replied “Oh yes it is”, or it is at least making the application and seeing what the LAA come back with. We anticipate that they will ask for confirmation that “there was no reason to believe injuries/condition were not caused by DV”.
