The MoJ intends to appeal the defeat of its Legal Aid residency test plans
Now I am in no position to judge the legal merits of this step, however the judgment seems pretty damning to this layman.
This did however get me thinking what one of the LAA contract compliance team would say?
Based on the appeal files I am currently involved with – “The Sufficient Benefit Test is not met” – is my guess . If it was a Prison Law file with the enhanced SBT, prospects would have to be “objectively good” right now, today before you could even start Mr Grayling’s case.
It seems it’s one rule for them and a different one for us when it comes to the “financial stewardship of hardworking taxpayers money”.
